Privacy Policy
Portsmouth Technologies LLC · Last updated June 2026
Halo helps you prove, mid-call, that you are a real, identity-verified person. Trust is the entire product, so Halo is built to collect and keep as little information as possible.
Information we collect
- Your own identity. Your display name, your verified phone number, and a public key. These let recipients confirm your verifications. Your private signing key never leaves your device.
- Nothing about who you verify with. Verification texts are sent from your own Messages app, so the other person's number never reaches Halo's servers at all, not even momentarily.
How we use information
We use your information solely to operate the verification service: to register your identity and to deliver the one-time verification message you initiate. We do not use it for advertising.
SMS messaging
No mobile information (including phone numbers) will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messages are transactional identity verifications only. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
What we never do
- We never store call records, your contacts, the numbers you verify with, or message history.
- We never sell or share your personal information or phone numbers with third parties.
- We never send marketing or promotional messages.
Data retention & your controls
Your identity registration is kept only while your account is active and can be deleted at any time from within the app, which erases your entry. Recipient numbers are not retained at all.
